Four Pearls Website-Redesign

From the Web Master - The Four Pearls of Beckstrand has undergone a complete web re-design.  The previous Four Pearls site needed lots of work to be done, so I volunteered my help because its a worthy cause and quite frankly, it needed help badly.  The process for the Four Pearls website re-vamp started with me and Brady O' Connell discussing the idea of me re-doing the Four Pearls website.  I then discussed with Veronica Muth her needs and wants for the new site.  It was decided that the website should be very closely modeled to the Beckstrand Cancer Foundation's website (http://www.beckstrand.org) to keep consistency between the auxiliary groups.  So before I go any further, I would like to give credit to the beckstrand.com designer because design wise,  my design for Four Pearls is an simply an offshoot of that design.  By modeling after the Beckstrand website, I created compositions from scratch to blend both the Beckstrand website with the Four Pearls branding.  I was told to make it "pink/purplish" so I integrated those colors with the design, and what you see is the finished product.

Although design is something I like doing, what websites really need is both the ability to display information that is visually appealing and also be easy to maintain.  There's no point with a cool looking website if it is updated once a year. And if someone wants to update their website, it better be easy.  Easy updating is the main focus of all websites I do.

This website has been a fun one to work on.  Not only because it was for a good cause, but I developed the website with a "no red tape" type of mentality.  I had no deadlines, expectations, etc...  I simply made the website how I feel every website should be.  Easy to look at, and easy to maintain.  I try to deploy this motto with websites I create: "If you can create and update a facebook profile, then you can create content and update your own website".
