• David Yurman Event: Thursday, April 17, 2008 at the David Yurman Boutique at South Coast Plaza- This shopping Event was held for Mother's Day honoring Debra Joy Stephens. Proceeds benefited Four Pearls.

• Celebrate Life with Hope 2008:Sunday, June 1, 2008 at Paramount Studios- CHLA-HOPE's annual one-day signature event at Paramount Pictures Studios for patients and families treated at Childrens Hospital Los Angeles and LAC/USC Women's and Children's Hospital. This event highlighted "survivorship" through a Health and Wellness Fair sponsored by Four Pearls of Beckstrand Cancer Foundation, along with a carnival, celebrity entertainment, food and lots of fun fun.

• Miller Children's Hospital Torch Run 2008: Walking past the Aquarium of the Pacific in Long Beach, over 225 individuals and family members make their way to the Harbor Esplanade on Shoreline Drive. Even though it was early, the grassy hill was already crowded with tents and lawn chairs as over 2,000 spectators were gearing up for the 23rd Annual Champions Run for Life, otherwise known as the "Torch Run".

This Olympic style torch relay run is to benefit the Jonathan Jacques Children's Cancer Center at Miller Children's Hospital, which provides treatment and care for children with cancer and blood related illnesses. Last year, along with the black tie event held the night before, both events raised over $350,000 for the center. Hoping to top last year's funds that were raised and marshalling this wonderful event was Doctor Jerry Z.. Finklestein, Medical Director of the Jonathan Jaques Children's Cancer Center and founder and head of the program for over 17 years.

This year, the Four Pearls of Beckstrand Cancer Foundation has sponsored two children, Lizbeth Real and Dustin in the Torch Run and will be running with them and their families over the 1/ 8 mile course. Four Pearl's Medical Director and member, Nishan Tchekmedyian was excited to participate in his second Torch Run and along with Dustin and his family were in awe of the many celebrities that had come out to support this amazing cause. Standing by Station 2 Napoleon Dynamite star, Efren Ramirez, better known as "Pedro" was busy chatting with many of the children and taking pictures. Lizbeth Real and many members of her family were some of the fans waiting in line to catch a glimpse of the scene stealing star. Nearby, Jessica Hamel, better known as the 2008 Tecate Miss Grand Prix of Long Beach, was also signing autographs and taking pictures.

Every year the event is a tremendous success but for the children, the Torch Run is an event they look forward to each year because it is a celebration and their personal victory over the battle with cancer and rare blood diseases.
