The Hope & Harmony Run/Walk invites runners and walkers from every background to participate in support of a cause that matters to us all: Improving and enhancing quality of life for cancer patients and their families. Because cancer doesn't discriminate, we challenge everyone to come together in a show of hope and support that promotes healthy activity and encourages positive interaction.

Hosted by Beckstrand Cancer Foundation, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, the Hope & Harmony Run/Walk benefits programs that provide direct assistance to local patients whose diagnosis has resulted in financial burden. These programs help with day-to-day basic needs, such as rent/mortgage, food, gas/transportation, utilities, health insurance premiums, medical co-payments and prescriptions. The programs support families from all ethnic backgrounds located throughout Orange County. Since 1974, the Foundation has served as a resource for the cancer community, alleviating the financial burden of the disease so that patients can focus on treatment and recovery. Runners and walkers can participate as individuals or as teams in the 5k race. Kids can participate as individuals or as teams in the 1-mile race. All races will be timed and winners will be announced. We'll also host a fun, family-friendly activity space and winners circle as a thank you to each of our participants. Other highlights include:

  • Pre- and post-event race activities, including the Runner's Expo and Winner's Circle
  • Electronic timing and custom designed technical race shirts
  • Great food from local vendors in the Food Village
  • Music, warm-up activities and a fun race atmosphere
